I am a dedicated educator and LDANZ-registered cognitive assessor with two decades of experience supporting neurodiverse learners in educational settings. My practice is grounded in a learner-centered, strength-based approach, offering comprehensive cognitive assessments that identify both areas of strength and challenge. These insights inform targeted, evidence-based interventions that empower learners to reach their full potential.
Collaboration is central to my work. I actively engage with parents, teachers, and other stakeholders to foster inclusive, supportive learning environments where students can build the self-efficacy and confidence necessary for long-term success. My work has consistently led to improved academic outcomes and enhanced confidence among students.
Despite the critical role assessments play in unlocking learning potential, access to high-quality cognitive and educational evaluations remains inequitable. In New Zealand, these assessments typically range from NZ$1,000 to over $2,500, depending on the provider, location, and complexity of the evaluation. These costs can be prohibitive for many families, delaying or preventing access to timely diagnoses and support.
This inequity is reflected in national data on Special Assessment Conditions (SACs). In 2023, only 3% of students at decile 1 schools accessed SACs, compared to 12% at decile 10 schools—a fourfold difference. While NZQA now allows schools to apply for SACs using school-based evidence, this process can be challenging. Many schools lack the time, tools, and trained staff to gather and document consistent, high-quality evidence. As a result, students with genuine learning needs may go unsupported.
As an LDANZ-registered assessor, I am trained to identify indicators of a wide range of learning differences and developmental concerns. While I do not diagnose complex psychological conditions, I am equipped to recognise when further evaluation may be necessary and make appropriate recommendations and referrals to other specialists.
To address financial barriers, I am committed to offering affordable and accessible assessment services. By reducing costs and maintaining high standards of care, I aim to ensure that all learners have the opportunity to understand their cognitive profile and receive the support they deserve. My goal is to make assessments a tool for empowerment, not exclusion.

I would highly recommend this service. I have had a few cognitive assessments undertaken over the years for our daughter. Amanda’s recent report was one of the best we have obtained. Amanda fully supported our daughter (and us) through the testing process, reducing stress and answering all our questions. Our daughter actually enjoyed the testing process. Amanda clearly explained the final report, the results, neurodiverse traits, areas for support and recommendations on the next steps.

A thoroughly worthwhile service. Questions we had about our child were answered through the assessment process from expert and compassionate staff. The report we received was clear, thorough, and showed how well they had understood our child's strengths and neurodiverse needs. The recommendations section at the end empowered us to implement strategies at home as well as at school.
